About Conference
The Fifth International Conference of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development (ICRESD-2024) will be held by University of Al-Qadisiyah, on December 29-30, 2024. The conference is an annual event organized by College of Agriculture, Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture, The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), The Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD), Center of Desert Studies (CDS) and Badiya Studies Center and Sawa Lake and Sahara Majan Agricultural and Food Consultation Center (Qutoof), that aims to bring together researchers, scientists, lecturers, engineers, scholar students, and practitioners interested in the advanced technologies of agriculture and food including climate change, smart farming, pre- and post-harvest technologies, food and nutrition securities, agriculture and food supply chain system and related topics. The ICRESD, 2024 provides a forum for the exchange of information on state-of-the-art research within all of the related topics as well as aims to build and strengthen scientific cooperation among the research institutions.

Topic of interest include, but not limited to, the following:
- Pollution and environmental sciences (soil pollution, irrigation and sewage water pollution, lake water pollution, pollution treatment plants)
- Soil science and irrigation systems engineering (soil physics, soil chemistry, soil microbiology, soil survey and classification, soil fertility and fertilization, modern irrigation technologies, laser soil leveling)
- Biological systems engineering (plant protection and integrated pest management; food science and field crop production; horticulture and landscaping; medicinal and aromatic plants; animal production technology; agricultural extension and transfer of modern technologies)
- Agricultural machinery and machinery engineering (engine engineering; agricultural machinery and drone engineering)
- Nano-biotechnology (nano-particle manufacturing techniques; green manufacturing; nano-fertilizers; nano-biostimulants)
- Climate change and desertification (studies on climate change and combating desertification)
